What We Do

Raptors are challenging birds to work with. They are large birds of prey; fierce, powerful & intelligent. They require specialized experience to ensure their wellbeing.

Our Mission here at Hawk Holler Rescue is to provide the best ongoing care needed for these incredible birds to make a full recovery, so they can successfully be released back into the wild. We need them soaring free. Raptors play a very important role in our local ecological balance. With the help of local community donations, we are able to arrange transportation of injured birds to our facility or to medical triage. Fallen birds first receive the treatment needed for recovery. Then begins the (sometimes lengthy) process of rehabilitation to ensure they can continue to hunt & thrive in the wild. Once the raptor in care is healthy & strong enough, it’s reintroduced to the area in which it was first discovered. Adult birds of prey generally have territories they have well established. It’s a very joyful & rewarding moment when we can get them back to their homes.

In addition to helping raptors, our goal is to help inspire an overall stronger connection between our community and the wildlife that surrounds us. A healthy understanding of how we must coexist & to always admire, respect & appreciate our natural world.

“The message is simple: Love & conserve our wildlife. We don’t own the planet Earth, we belong to it. And we must share it with our wildlife”

— Steve Irwin
